Code errors in template

hi,

i´ve worked with a few freelancers who all complained about the code of the template … that it has soooo much errors.

one suggested to ask you to fix the errors, because he could fix it, but as soon you guys change something, then we would have to start all over again … maybe even somewehre else.

he basicly suggests me to take annother theme, as this one is CRAP … the coding is bad (more or less his words)

… at the same time i dont want to have the hassle to create a new website on another template - i want my page to have correct code - GOOGLE DISLIKES bad coding and it effects my ranking.

what can you guys do to correct all the errors?

rene

Hey rene,

Would you telling your developer to provide more context as to what he thinks is bad coding? X was built with best coding practices. We, the support staff, are developers ourselves and we can vouch for that.

Regarding SEO, if you read our sales page at https://themeforest.net/item/x-the-theme/5871901, you’ll see that X was Search Engine Optimized. If its code is bad, no site will rank number one in Google using it. But, I personally have searched for what I need and the site was using X.

We would need more details to answer your question so please give us:

  1. The details and screenshots of the errors.
  2. What is the code that your developer said was bad.

Once we know the details, we would be happy to provide an answer and report a bug if there really is an issue and bad coding.

Thank you.

thank you for your reply … i will let him know.

btw. is it possible to receive a notification, if some replies show up in this topic?

would love that to be faster to respond.

he asked me to send this above …

i also have this, which shows jsut an endless list of errors:

https://validator.w3.org/nu/?doc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rene-chevalier.de%2F

… as i said, he could start to fix it, but he is sure, that this will be messed up again, as soon theme gets updated, as the errors are in the template …

rene

there are actually more …

Hello There,

I can see all the errors. You what, this is not being cause by the theme at the moment. This is because of how the theme is set up in the first place. Please ask your developers to disable all caching plugins first. This can cause the changes to not take place on the front end. It will eventually show up when the cache regenerates, but it’s not ideal if you’re looking to see your changes immediately. Caching plugins are best to turn on only when you’ve finished building the site..

Once done, please also ask your developer to make sure that all the custom html, css and JS code he might have added must be correct and valid. By the way, please do not rely on the validator because it has been out of date for a while now. The validator will only validate pages with xhtml, html4 and below. It does not recognize any of the html5 and other new technologies as of the moment. And also, may I remind that theme’s css/js files were already minified. Minifiying it again is a double kill and might have contribute other issues if the page is not properly cache with your caching plugin or with CloudFlare. This is why we always recommend to turn off any caching and plugin minification during development and/or while troubleshooting any issues in the site.

Thank you for your understanding.
