Clickable link to self/post in "the grid" lightbox items?

On the home page of https://dev.intentionallylost.com I’ve got all content displaying using The Grid and styled everything just like I want it. I also burned a week trying the same thing using Essential Grid and that wasn’t working so I’m committed to The Grid now.

If someone opens an image or video to view in the lightbox from the home page they can page left or right through the featured photos and videos. However it’s not possible to open the actual post content when viewing an item in the lightbox. I’ve been through the docs several times to see if there’s a setting I missed and can’t find a way to make the lightbox item clickable to go to the post. I’m guessing that’s not a feature available inside of the lightbox but figured I’d ask.

For example, when I get to this item inside of the lightbox it’s just showing the featured thumbnail image from the post with alt text below it. Can I put a title above the item in the lightbox that can link to the post or make the image itself a hit area to click through to the post?

Thanks for writing to us.

Regretfully, there is no option in the “The Grid” plugins to show post title or posts content in the lightbox. It can only display media content like image, video and audio in the lightbox. We can forward it to "The Grid " plugin as a feature request.

That’s kind of what I expected. To be specific; I don’t want to display additional post content in the lightbox (like title, excerpt, etc). I want to be able to link to self/post from clicking on something in the lightbox. This would be a truly useful feature to move beyond just “show a bunch of things” functionality.

A display only lightbox is really only useful for showing galleries of content. They do have the option to use a different lightbox so maybe I’ll check these out, but…more code and plugin conflicts and all that you know.

The grid has lightbox settings. The Grid include it’s own ligthbox plugin. This lightbox is compatible with image and hosted/embed(youtube,vimeo) video. Regretfully there is no option to load a post content or even putting a simple link URL inside a lightbox.
