Clear Instructions for "Protected Content" Shortcode

Hello Themeco,

I am lost on how to make the “Protected Content” shortcode work properly.

My goal is to put password protection on this page: http://chapterfocusweek.com/staff-page/

Is the shortcode intended to be pasted into the page itself or somewhere else? I tried pasting it directly on the page which creates visible login fields, but does not restrict access to the page. Also, I need direction on how to set up a password and remove the username field. I could not find this explained clearly searching the forum.

Hi Joel,

The purpose of the protected content shortcode is to make a specific part of the contents private which goes between two brackets:

[protect] Hidden Content [/protect]

It is not intended to protect the whole page or having only password input box instead of the username and password.

I think the feature that you want to use is the one that is presented already in the WordPress itself. Kindly read the article below to know more about the password protected pages in WordPress:
