Classsic Feature list: Icon Animation delay nested inide the Connector animation

Hi!

I was creating a Featured list, and wanted to set the delay on the Icon.

It took me some time to realize that I need to enable connector first to reveal the delay settings, although I use single feature box per column and don’t need connector at all.

Since the animation delay is for the Icon (too), I think it shluldn’t be nested under the connector.

Thanks for reaching out.

I’m not sure what you mean, that animation delay is really meant for the connector (which also serve intervals between icons, and what between icons are the connectors). And the icon animation delay is fixed, would you mind clarifying to what delay you’re referring to?

Ok, so it is unnatural for me that the delay is for the connector only.

There are valid situations where there are lists with no connectors, but with icons only. So user may want to animate the icons, but can’t because there is no option until connectors are enabled, which are not needed.

It is not expected by the user that connectors need to be enabled, in order to animate icons. (Because user doesn’t want the connectors).

I mean, it is a minor UX thing. But it is a thing. :slight_smile:

But that’s how I already am doing it. My point was something else.
This is a minor UX observation. I won’t take your valuable time with it anymore.

Just one more time:

There are two elements to animate, icon and the connector, and the delay for both is controlled as a sub-control of one of them —the connector. It cannot be seen until the connector is enabled, although it might not even be needed for the connector, but rather only for the icon.

It is counter-intuitive to reach for the Icon delay option by enabling the connector which the user might not even need. The user thinks, “Where is that delay for the icon? There is the connector, but I don’t need that…” So he keeps searching…

A logical setup would be that the Delay option is not nested under the connector, but instead it would make more sense if it was standalone control.
