Classic Social Share - Change URL that's shared

Hi,

Is there a way to change the url that’s shared with the Classic Social Share? I want to share a url that is not the page the element is on. It looks like I may be able to do it with script but I wanted to know if there was an easier way.

Also, is there a way to change the image that is shared?

Hi Rick,

Thank you for writing in, no, the Classic Social Share element is designed to share the page where it is placed. You need to do your own script or use a plugin, the same goes for changing the image that is shared. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities.
