Classic slider not working after update

Hi,

Following on from this thread where I have updated X Theme to be compatible with Cornerstone:

The classic slider on my homepage is no longer working. It is only visible on screen size 480px and smaller. The images its referencing are still there.

Thanks
Kate

Hi Kate,

That is hapenning because the ROW 5 where the slider is placed is set to be displayed only on mobile since you have selecte to hide it on the other screen widths.

Please click on ROW 5 and unselect the hide based on screen width options.

Also I reccomend you updating your shortcodes from :

[x_image type="none" float="none" src="/wp-content/themes/x/framework/img/global/SweetAndSour2.png" alt="Sweet & Sour Stir-in Sauce" info="none" info_place="top" info_trigger="hover"][x_custom_headline type="center" level="h4" looks_like="h4"]Sweet & Sour[/x_custom_headline]
[x_custom_headline type="center" level="h5" looks_like="h5"]Stir-in Sauce[/x_custom_headline]

to :

[image type="none" float="none" src="/wp-content/themes/x/framework/img/global/SweetAndSour2.png" alt="Sweet & Sour Stir-in Sauce" info="none" info_place="top" info_trigger="hover"][custom_headline type="center" level="h4" looks_like="h4"]Sweet & Sour[/custom_headline][custom_headline type="center" level="h5" looks_like="h5"]Stir-in Sauce[/custom_headline]

The prefix x_ in the shortcodes is no longer needed, it is actually the old version of the shortcodes

Hope it helps

Thanks Joao,

I think you have misunderstood the problem continued from the previous thread. I understand that the slider will only show on mobile. It is supposed to do this. The problem is that content within the slider is not showing on mobile as it should do.

Please see earlier screen grab that shows capital text stacked on top of each other. The images are not showing and it is not sliding between them.

Would you mind taking another look please?

Thanks

Hi There,

It seems to be a caching issue, your slider immediately shows up right after I flush the GoDaddy’s cache.

Remember to clear all caches (plugin, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache) after updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Also, worth mentioning that since you’re on the latest version of X and Cornerstone, please update your X extensions as well (Content Dock, Email Forms, Google Analytics).

To update those extensions to version 2.0.3, follow these steps:

- Ensure your theme is validated so Extensions can be installed automatically
- Deactivate and delete the extensions.
- On the theme overview page, locate and install the "Extensions".
- Visit "Plugins" panel in your Dashboard to activate the newly installed version.

Because all of the plugin settings are stored in the database, and because version 2.x will migrate settings from older versions, its safe to use this method of deleting the previous version.

Cheers!

Thats great, thank you.

Did you do anything else? I had already flushed that cache several times?

Hi There,

We also have adjusted the shortcodes inside the slider as reccomended initially.

Hope it helps!
