On initial page load, the contents of the first slide show and then slide to show the contents of the first slide instead of the contents of the second slide.
Also, I cannot find where the style is being applied to cause the background-color transition after the last slide to be bright blue.

Okay, so the blue object seems to be a problem with the cloned slide the slider uses for the transition. However, the first problem persists where the first slide’s content appears and then slides into the same first slide’s content instead of the second slide.
It looks like the issue is DOM flickering. The slideshow loads initially and then when the javascript for the page finished loading it flickers. Any suggestions?
Solution that worked was to use CSS to hide the first slide before the slider loads.
