I have a weird problem with the “Classic Recent Posts” element. I wanted to make it only show a specific category, say “News” for instance. I checked the ID of the “News” category, it’s 67. Also everything else seems to be set up correctly.
And I checked whether there are any posts in this category. There are! But they won’t show.
I’m confused. Why isn’t this working?

Please try inserting the category name instead of category ID:
If it still doesn’t work, please follow these steps:
Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
Remove custom CSS and Javascript from the options or Child Theme and test the case.
Switch to the parent theme to check if the issue persists.

Using the category name actually worked! I don’t know why, but I seemed to remember that you were supposed to use the ID. Maybe I just remembered it wrong.
