Classic Mailchimp Form don't display - Plugin and entries deleted

Hi there,

I had a subscription form on my website using the Mailchimp Classic element that it seems that no longer exists. Now on the frontend, I see the shortcode of the form and on the backend (CS) I see the message “This element could not render because its definition is missing. You might need to activate a plugin.”.

Other than recreating the form with another plugin, is there a fix for this?

I can set up Email Forms and create a new form, configure the plugin, style the form, etc… But all this was done in the past already. If there’s a way to not throw away the work done it would be better.

Thank you,

Andre.

Hi Andre,

Thank you for writing in, the Cornerstone has no native Mailchimp Classic element, so more likely you added that via a 3rd party plugin and now that plugin is not updated so now that Mailchimp Classic element is not recognized by Cornerstone anymore. Regretfully we can not provide support for 3rd party plugins, so you need to contact the plugin developer to help you with that, simply updating the plugin might help.

If the author stops developing that plugin, then you need to have a different plugin. if your list are saved on Mailchimp then you can retain those contacts.

Cheers!

Hi Friech,

I understand you may be new with the X theme but there was a Classic MailChimp element in CS, before the Pro theme has been released. And this has been working nicely until not too long ago. Let’s say 2 months if not less.

Fyi, the shortcode of this element was [x_subscribe form=“xxxx”] which is an X theme native shortcode.

So, my question persists. Is there a way to save the old forms and migrate them to the new Email Forms element?

And shouldn’t the transition not affect the already created forms? It’s very sad to see the amount of forms not being displayed on numerous x theme websites across the web. Just do a Google search for the shortcode I mentioned and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Any help is appreciated,

Have a nice weekend,

Andre.

Hello Andre,

[x_subscribe form="xxxx"] is actually a shortcode that is coming from the Email Forms extension plugin. You can also still use this if you have installed Pro theme. You can get this in X/Pro > Validation > Extensions page. At the moment, the latest version is Email Forms 2.0.4

Just be aware that some of the Classic Elements like the Email Forms, Grid, Sliders, etc will no longer have a preview when editing in Cornerstone or Pro Editor. The elements will only display in the live view of the page.

Hope this helps.

Hi there,

thank you for your reply. Maybe I wasn’t clear about my issue so I will try to explain it better.

I was using the Email Forms plugin, hence the [x_subscribe form="xxxx"] shortcode. All of sudden, the form stopped working and all I see is a shortcode on the frontend. Upon checking on the backend I see this:

I decided to check if the Email Forms plugin was activated. It was not even installed. After installing it, there are no created forms. After creating a new form I notice the shortcodes created are different, now they are [tco_subscribe form="xxxx"].

I’m not sure what happened but it looks like X no longer supports the Classic Mailchimp element that was coming from the Email Forms plugin. Try Googling for “[x_subscribe form” and you will see 23000 results where the the same shortcodes are being displayed on the frontend.

The solution for me was just to create a new form with the new/updated Email Forms. Not ideal.

Thank you for your time,

Have a great day.

Andre.

Hello Andre,

[x_subscribe form should have converted to [tco_subscribe form="xxxx"] automatically. Can you please confirm that you are using Email Forms 2.0.4?
