Classic Icon List - Mail To Link

Hi there

We have a series of pages on our website which use the Classic Icon List element. The list is used to list website urls and to provide the ability to click to email.

And scroll down to the OTHER LINKS section and click Contact Mitegen.

What happens is a new browser window opens up. This is not what we want.

What we want to happen is the email client on the users computer to open and an email open with it populated with the email to email address assigned to the URL field of the list.

Based on what I read in the forum this is not possible without a 3rd party plugin.

Is that correct?

Or, is there a way to configure an email address in the Classic Icon List to open in an email client as described above?

Our Woocommerce site uses Theme X version 9.0.8 and Cornerstone 6.0.8. It also has a customized child theme. We are using renew stack.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for reaching out.
If the links open in the new tab that means the Open Link in New Tab option is enabled for those List Items. Please disable it to get rid of that.
You don’t need any 3rd Party plugin for it, adding the mailto: option will open the mailing agent like Outlook, Thunderbird in the User end.
