Hi there,
I was just wondering whether the usage of classic elements could be a disadvantage in the future. Will Cornerstone support those classic elements permanently or will they be abandoned some time?
Best regards

Hi @knowmates,
Thanks for reaching out.
The V2 elements are introduced to deprecate the Classic Element and that will be removed after a few updates.
Thanks
Hello @tristup,
will the Classic Elements keep working despite that removal or do we have to rebuild all elements with ‘non Classic Elements’?
Best regards
It sure would be nice to have a option to have Cornerstone update classic elements to V2 elements.
@knowmates, I would suggest migrating over to V2 elements. The classic elements are very basic and required quite a bit of custom css to get to look/function the way you wanted. V2 elements include a plethora of styling options that abstract all the css as nice visual controls.
I just came across a older page on one our sites that was 90% classic elements that I updated. I had forgotten how much work they took!
Hey Kevin,
Thanks for chiming in and sharing your ideas, we really appreciate it.
Cheers!
Hello @ehsdappdev,
thanks for your comment. I am aware of migrating over from Classic Elements to V2 elements. However that didn’t answer my question properly.
@marc_a Will the Classic Elements keep working despite that removal or are we forced to rebuild erverything with ‘non Classic Elements’?
Best regards
Hi @knowmates,
The deprecated elements will not be shown in the Page Builder, but as these elements generate the shortcodes will show the output properly in the browser. As those will not work in the Page Builder, you can’t edit or modify, so it will be better if you migrate to V2 elements.
Thanks
