Classic element background colour

I am trying to make my page have a background image then have each section use a transparent section to outline the writing. My problem is that the background of the sections is not transparent but instead white. Meaning when I decrease the transparency of the element the background slowly turns to white instead of to my global background image.

You need to set the main container background to transparent for that to work.

Kindly add the code below in Theme Options > CSS

.page-template-template-blank-4-php .x-main, .page-template-template-blank-5-php .x-main, .page-template-template-blank-6-php .x-main, .page-template-template-blank-8-php .x-main {
   background-color:transparent;
}
