Clarification on global headers and footers

Please, I need clarification.

Let’s say I made a footer global and I chose another footer for a specific page.

I just discovered that the footer I assigned to a specific page does not display instead the global footer does.

Is this suppose to be so?

Thanks.

Hello Barry,

Thanks for writing in!

  • Please be advised that as soon as you assigned your custom header/footer as global, it will be displayed in all pages.

  • If you have created another custom header/footer and have assigned it to a specific page/post or a number of pages/posts, that will be the header/footer of that page/post replacing the global header/footer.

  • If in any case, the custom header/footer is not displaying in one of your pages, please see to it that you page is not using any of these page templates: Blank - No Container | No Header, No Footer, Blank - Container | No Header, No Footer. For more details about the different page templates in the theme, please check this out:

This is not the case here.

I assigned a global footer and then a particular footer to one page but the global footer covered all the pages including the page I assigned a different footer to.

Hi Barry,

I can confirm the issue. I tried the column footers and assign on a newly created draft page to check. There is an error on the console:

You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

If this is not a plugin, please check for any customization. Try to remove it and then check again.

Let us know how this goes.

I disabled all the plugins and it’s working fine now. I’d have to fish out the plugin that is causing this issue.

Thanks.

Hey Barry,

It’s good to know that it is working fine now.
