Childtheme code

I dont seem to be able to edit the already ongoing thread (theme.co/apex/forum/t/where-to-add-a-file-in-a-child-theme/2268) here, so i had to start a new one.

the problem is i edit the css (integrity-light.css) in the following location:

wp-content/themes/x/framwork/legacy/cranium/css/dist/site/integrity-light.css

so of course when i update xtheme all the changes are gone.

therefor i tried in an staging enviroment, installed a child theme, activated the child theme, put the changes inside the style.css file in the child theme, and was hoping by updating the theme my changes would stay - but they dont.

so where do i have to put the css changes in order for things not to get lost while updating.

you can see what i mean by looking at the menu here: https://barentsnaturgass.no/
and how it looks like after installing the child theme with the new style.css file here: http://barentsnatur.staging.wpengine.com/

i would highly appreciate some help.

Hi There,

You’re correct on adding it on the child theme style.css file. Other option is adding it on Theme Options > Global CSS. I visit both of those link and seems the same. See this: https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cbjoDAldAa
Can you clarify if I missed something?

Hi Lely,

I attached a jpg for clarification. But as i clarified before it is the menu that wont change.

Also, it doesnt work to add the code just into the global css.
i cant target the changes from the customizer/custom css, because i disable lines of the code.

this is how i changed the code:
.desktop .sub-menu {
/*position: absolute; /
display: none;
float: left;
min-width: 200px;
/
margin: 0; /
margin-top: 25px;
margin-right: 0px;
padding: 0.75em 0;
font-size: 12px;
list-style: none;
background-color: #33495e;
z-index: 1000;
border-radius: 4px;
-webkit-background-clip: padding-box;
background-clip: padding-box;
/
box-shadow: 0 3px 5px rgba(0,0,0,0.25); */
}

but never mind, i solved the problem by writing a new code.
so problem solved thanx to outside support.

Glad to hear you got it sorted.

Cheers!
