Checkout page display terms and conditions page

Hi support yesterday my Checkout page https://dev.bruleriedukamouraska.com/caisse/ begin displaying the terms and conditions page (Conditions générales de vente in French) https://dev.bruleriedukamouraska.com/conditions-generales-de-vente/

I have tried deactivate all extensions but Woocommerce and the problem was still there.

Then I activated a default theme and the Checkout page display correctly (Twenty TwentyVersion : 1.5)

The strangest thing is that the page do not display the good preview in the builder but when I edit the page I see the checkout page. I will provide access in a private reply.

Hi @philippe11,
Thanks for reaching out.

The given URLs are not accessible from multiple locations. There might be some restrictions on IPs to access the website, please remove the IP restriction and let us know to examine it.
Please remember that we are from different parts of the World and most of us have a dynamic IP so we can’t provide a specific ID address to you.

Thanks

Hi @tristup. I can work on my site. When I try with Geo Browse I see that some countries are blocked. Can you use a VPN to access from another country? I have contacted the support of the hosting company but I have no response. This is the first time I see that. I do not know what to do.

Hi @philippe11,

I have already replied on this to your previous thread, Link to the cart page on the cart Icon

Thanks

Hi @tristup. Actually, the hosting company tells me that they cannot unblock people from some countries due to massive hacking. I do not know the list of blocked countries yet but I know that India, Russia and Brazil are blocked. Can you ask to a colleague from an unblocked country to help me please? I use https://geotargetly.com/geo-browse to test access from a particular country.

Hello Philippe,

I was able to log in and investigate your issue. It seems that it is because of the assignments of the pages in WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced. For the moment, I have temporarily disabled the Terms and Condition page. I would like you to review how you can properly add it to your site. Kindly check this out:

Best Regards.

Hi Ruenel. I have tried to assign Terms and Conditions page in Appearance > Customize>WooCommerce> Checkout with the same result. The Checkout page is replaced with the Terms and Conditions page. I need a solution.

This site must have “Terms and Conditions” Checkbox to the Checkout Page. To display that I have to set WooCommerce>Settings > Advanced > Page Setup>Terms and Conditions page On my site this page is called «Conditions générales de vente». If I set the page there, I canot see trhe checkout page anymore.

No solution in the link provided.

Hey @philippe11,

Your login page redirects to your home page so I could not check the issue even when using VPN.

Just a quick note about using VPN. That is not included in our theme support. Not all support staff has that and I’ve used my personal VPN only which is limited. If you don’t ask your web host to temporarily deactivate IP restriction in your site and the support staff available doesn’t have VPN, please expect that you’ll wait for a support staff that has a personal VPN.
Alternatively, you can copy your live site to a staging server and give us access. It’s a best practice to have a staging copy anyway if you operate a website. This way also, there’s no risk of breaking your site in case of troubleshooting.

Back to the issue, WooCommerce only allows simple shortcodes to be placed in the assigned Terms page. If you’ve used the Content Builder which outputs complex shortcodes, there might be issues and we do not support that as the Terms page should or commonly contains text only so it must be created using the Text Editor of WordPress and not builders.

We also need to know if this issue is being caused by our theme alone and not by other factors such as 3rd party plugins and custom codes.

That said if the issue is resolved using the parent theme and deactivating all 3rd party plugins, it means that the problem is coming from the child theme or one of the 3rd party plugins. For this case, please have a developer check your child theme as we do not provide support for customizations. For the plugins, activate one plugin at a time and the last activated plugin the brings back the error is the cause. In this case, forward the issue to the plugin developer and he/she needs to fix it.

Thanks.

Login https://dev.bruleriedukamouraska.com/wp-login.php?itsec-hb-token=salicorne credentials tested working @ruenel was able to login.

I have tested deactivating all extentions but Woocommerce with Pro-Child or Pro and the bug is there. The Checkout page link display the Therms page.

Activating the default theme Twenty Twenty Version : 1.5 and the Checkout page is back.

So it seems to me that this is a theme related bug.

Hey @philippe11,

It looks like you changed something on your site so I could log in now. Last time I checked the login URL you posted redirects to the home page.

Also, you didn’t read what I said that you shouldn’t use the Content Builder for the WooCommerce Checkout page. I pasted the Checkout shortcode in the Text Editor of WordPress and it works.

This is not a bug in Pro. We really don’t currently support using the Content Builder for the WooCommerce checkout page. This might change in the future though.

Hope that helps.

Hi Christian. I have notices thatt before but I need the same page design and it canot be done in the basic WordPress editor. This is bad for design coherence. We should be able tu use the content builder for the Woocommerce pages. Thanks.

Hey @philippe11,

We certainly appreciate your feedback, as mentioned by Christian, this might change in the future. For the design consistency you probably can use custom CSS to match the design.

Here are some related links for further reading, this could help you in finding and implementing some CSS fixes:

Hope this helps!
