Changing what Shows in the Preview Window When Designing in "Layouts"

I’ve been working on a new site and designing a “Layout” for a custom post type on the single post.

Everything is working just fine, but the problem is the preview window will only show the Home page data. This makes it really hard to see what the design is going to show as I have to keep saving and looking at the final output, rather than seeing it in the preview window.

As you can see, it’s only pulling through data from the home page. At first, I thought it was because the “Assignment” wasn’t set up correctly. But I changed that to only show on specific post type and that didn’t change anything.

Then I set it to display just a single post, that also didn’t work. No matter what I set for the assignment I only get data showing from the Home page.

To change the preview layout, please click the button above the save option, then you can choose what preview you would like to view. See the example below.
