Change the Portfolio root directory

I plan to have Pro Theme installed to macro.marketing/blog directory because I have choose a blog template. I don´t know when or if I will have a site installed to my main domain. So, for know, my home page will show the blog. In the future I may have a site at macro.marketing and then I need to be able to use the macro.marketing/blog as link for Blog page. So far, so good.

The issue is that I like the way Pro handles the Portfolios and would like to use Portfolios on my main domain url and not at the Pro directory installation.

Right now, I can have the portfolios handled by my blog installation but the url would be something like macro.marketing/blog/portfolios which is not ideal.

I would like to be able to use macro.marketing/portfolios to show the portfolios created by the installation at macro.marketing/blog

Is there a way to accomplish this?

BTW, I only have one license of Pro, otherwise I could have it installed at main directory to start with. but if I do this, I will be foreced to use Pro for my main site ( whenever I decided to publish a site ) and I am not sure if I will use Pro for my site. Defitely for the blog.

Based on the information that you shared, you do not need to install another Pro theme in another directory. At the moment, your macro.marketing homepage is displaying a filtered index. You can actually have both the blog and portfolio pages without having to install Pro theme in a new directory nor needing another license code. Simply do the following:

1.) Go to Pages > Add New to create a new page entitled “Home Page”. You can edit this page using Pro editor so that you can design how your homepage should look like.
2.) Create another page and this time entitled “Blog”.
3.) Create another page and this time entitled “Portfolios”. Edit this page and change the page template to “Layout - Portfolio”. For more details about the different page templates in the theme, please check this out:

  4.) Please go to Settings > Permalink and select any of the choices except the default one.
  5.) Please go to Settings > Reading > Front Page Displays. Assign the “Home Page” as your front page and then assign “Blog” as your Posts Page.

When all of those steps above are followed, you can have macro.marketing, macro.marketing/blog/ and macro.marketing/portfolios/ pages.
