Change Image URL

I have changed the domain name for my site, and I need to easily change the URL for images. The only way I can figure out to do this is to delete the image and add it again, which is very time consuming. Please tell me how to easily edit the image source.

Hello @cyberando,

Thanks for asking.

Have you checked Velvet Blues Update URLs plugin? Please take a look and let us know how it goes:

You can also check following tutorial on how to use the plugin:

Thanks.

Hi @Prasant,

Any way to configure WordPress or Pro to use relative URLs for media instead of full URLs? It seems like a needless complication to fully specify the URL for items loaded from the media gallery…

Hello @ConnectionPoint,

Thanks for asking.

You can take a look at following plugin Relative URL. https://wordpress.org/plugins/relative-url/

However, please note that relative URL’s have there own fare share of issues attached. If you would like to learn more as to why relative URL’s hasn’t been integrated into WordPress, you can take a look at following core ticket and Yoast article:

Thanks.

Thanks - very helpful info!

You are most welcome.

The recommended plug in “Velvet Blues…” does nothing - finds nothing to update. Still looking for a solution that doesn’t involve deleting and adding every picture.

Hello @cyberando,

Thanks for updating this thread. Since the plugin no longer works for you, I would recommend that you install Better Search and Replace (https://wordpress.org/plugins/better-search-replace/) plugin instead. You can do a search for the old URL and replace it with your new URL.

Hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.
