Change default search to Ajax Search Pro (X Theme)

Hi,

I would like to change the default search to Ajax Search Pro.

There are several old instructions (2016-2019) but nothings works.

I already use X as a child theme.

Can you tell me which file I need to edit (or create) in which folder and what should be the content?

thanks for your answer. I checked out this thread before I ask for your help.

I already created the file “searchform.php” in the folder “wp-content/themes/x-child/”.

It seems that X is not including this file, because even if I write some nonsense into the file and click at the search icon, the standard Wordpress search is loaded and executed pretty well.

The X child theme is activated.

Can you help me to continue?
