Change database image paths in serialised data

Hi, we have Theme X and Cornerstone running on our website, and we have moved the domain ok with WP Migrate DB (as suggested elsewhere on the forum) when moving it to the final domain, however, our website now uses HTTPS, and the paths that have been changed with WP Migrate DB are relative and you can’t specify whether it is http:// or https://. Consequently, the serialised data reverts to the non-ssl http:// path whenever a page is edited in Cornerstone. I appreciate that the images should be done again in Cornerstone to be done correctly, however, with close to 50 pages in multiple languages, this is a laborious task! Is there a fix for this?

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! Since you are using WP Migrate DB plugin, please make use of the search and replace feature of the plugin. Run a search for http://www.example.com/ and replace it with https://www.example.com/

Please let us know how it goes.

This was in the documentation, leading us to think that the absolute path could not be set.

“This find & replace will find the domain name of your remote site and replace it with the domain name of this site. We’ve left out the protocol so that both http:// and https:// will be found and replaced. Find & Replace Documentation”

Hi there,

Even if it’s in the documentation, there is always the exception. What they mean is if you don’t want to affect the protocol, then you should left out the protocol. But your main objective is different, you have to change the protocol to fix your SSL issue.

And make sure the Wordpress and Site’s URL in Admin > Settings > General are with https://. Else, your images URL will still reflect the URL from that settings.

Thanks!
