Change classic item to v2

I’ve recently bought the X theme and installed it on my site. The Demo I installed has all the old or classic sections. I keep seeing the message that a section is “classic” and has less control or options for customization.
Questions:
First, why are demos not up-to-date? That makes what was supposed to be an easy install much more difficult and super frustrating for someone new to this process. Will they be updated shortly?

Second, how can I change these classic sections to the newer version?

Hi Nissa,

I totally understand that this might be frustrating, but unfortunately, at this moment we can not do anything about that as the demo contact has been worked on for many many hours and it is indeed not feasible to regenerate all of them with the new sections as this process should be done manually.

The new demo content that will be available in the future will work with new sections but the previous ones will not be using the new sections.

Having said that, you need to go to the pages that you want more control over the sections and add additional sections and drag the elements from the Classic Section of the newly added section.

Other than the method above there is no way to change the classic sections to the V2 ones.

You do not need to do the process for all the sections and you can do it only for the cases which you want more control over.

Thank you for your reply. If I understand what you are describing, won’t I lose all of the features of the demo? When I’ve added sections and new elements there is no styling. So, basically, it’s as if there is no demo - I’m creating from scratch?

Hi Nissa,

Sorry, you’re having this issue, we totally understand your point. what Christopher means is you can only edit the Classic demo within its capabilities.

If the feature that you need is on the V2 Section, then you need to insert a new V2 section and moved all your elements in there from the old section.

Please provide us the page URL and clarify what you’re trying to do, we might able to give a solution that does not involve creating a new V2 section.
