Hi guys
I have a date field set up with a placeholder. However the placeholder and styling is not being applied.<span class="wpcf7-form-control-wrap date-876"><input type="date" name="date-876" value="" class="wpcf7-form-control wpcf7-date wpcf7-validates-as-required wpcf7-validates-as-date" aria-required="true" aria-invalid="false" placeholder="Date of the occasion"></span>
Hi @philysgdy,
Thank you for writing in, unfortunately, placeholder
won’t do anything in a browser that supports date inputs. It might be possible with a script (https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/how-to-set-placeholder-value-for-input-type-date-in-html-5/) but please note we can not provide support for custom scripts.
You can only set a date Placeholder that will serve as a default [date date-785 "2013-04-01"]
.
Cheers,
Thanks Friech
Yes you have cleared up what was an ambiguous discussion in cf7 where you could but you couldn’t. I wil rethink these fields from a customer UX
cheers
Glad that we could be of help.
Cheers!
