I am setting up categories for blog posts. I have placed the categories in the main menu, but when i click on the link it takes me to the category archive page, but says there is nothing to show. I have gone through and made sure each post has been assigned to a category, but nothing has seemed to work. Am i missing a step?

I can confirm this issue as I compared it to a category feed. But, I couldn’t find what’s causing this from the front, would you mind providing your admin login credentials in a secure note for further checking?

Hello There,

Thanks for providing the information. Please be advised that there is an on going bug in Ethos stack when you select to display featured items in the post carousel or post slider. Please choose “Random” or “Most Commented” for the meantime in X > Theme Options > Ethos. Our developers were already aware of this issue and a fix will be coming out in the next update release cycle.

Thank you, i changed that setting, but that still doesnt fix my original problem with category pages

Hi,

I tried switching your theme to wordpress default theme and the archives works.

I checked my test sites with the latest version of X and categories are working fine as well

So there is something wrong with your theme, it may be corrupted.

Can you try re-installing your theme.

  1. Download theme from forum dashboard
  2. Unzip x.zip on your computer.
  3. Rename the x folder to x-updating.
  4. Connect to your server via FTP and navigate to your /wp-content/themes/ directory.
  5. Drag and drop the x-updating folder into your themes directory.
  6. Upon completion, rename the previous x folder to x-previous.
  7. Rename x-updating to x. Your site will now be at the latest version.
  8. Delete the x-previous folder.
  9. Visit the WordPress dashboard at least once to ensure any migration logic can run (this happens behind the scenes).

okay i am following the steps you provided. I am on step #4, and what exactly is FTP? maybe a dumb question
