Categories on pages and posts

Hi, I wondered if you could help and offer some advice.

I am creating a library of resources for members to be able to access when they want. What I need is not as extensive as a LMS but I would like people to be able to search via categories and possibly tags. Could you suggest some of the best ways I can do this? I was thinking about using the blog but do not know how to set this up. I would need a main page to explain what the library is and then a page for each category. I would need each set of resources to run off each category

Hi Esi,

Thanks for reaching out.

You can use the page to do this option. I suggest that you will create the main page were to add some info and then create all categories as subpages of the main page so that it will look like a category. After creating the subpages, lists all the created subpages on your main page so that your members can see the library resources.

The structure looks like this:

Main page:
Resources

Sub page:
Resources/Category1
Resources/Category2
Resources/Category3

The reason why I suggest to create all the categories on the pages so that you have full control on how you design them.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Perfect! That sounds really good. Is a main page a parent page and a sub page a child page?

Hi Esi,

Yes, that’s right.

Great, thanks
