Carriage returns not working since update

Hi,

We’ve updated the website to the latest build to 5.2.5 and since the update all pages we edit now won’t do carriage returns, for examples

----------- Before Update

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.

It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

----------- After Update

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

pressing enter in the text editor or even using
doesn’t work either. We have tried everything and nothing seems to fix the problem. Can you please offer some assistance?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in!

I can see you are using WpBakery Page builder for the content building. I couldn’t replicate the issue that you have mentioned. Can you please create a screencast video of the issue you have and send to us so that we can see if the issue is due to the theme update or a third party plugin.

Thanks

Hi there,

I did some test and this is a known bug which is already added in our issue tracker.

As a workaround, please edit the text in Text mode and add <br /> in the text where you want to add the line break.

Thank you.

Any eta on a fix? As the page builder removes the <br /> once saved. So doesn’t really fix anything.

Hi again,

Regretfully we don’t have a date yet but rest assured that this has been added to our issue tracker so the developers can be aware of this. In the mean time wrap your paragraphs in <p></p> tags in text editor for example:

<p>Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.</p>

<p>It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.</p>

Thank you for understanding.

Same thing with the <br /> once saved it works once. But if you re-edit the page the tags have all gone again. This really is a major bug and needs to be fixed asap.

Hi there,

We understand that this is stopping your workflow. We already added this to our Issue Tracker and our development team are aware of this issue.

The problem seems to be originated from the Visual Composer itself on the version that we have in the theme.

We will be in contact with the Visual Composer development team to make sure this will be fixed in the new releases and we will update the version.

Unfortunately, there is no ETA on the new version. You will be informed regarding the changes of a new version in the changelog:

Thank you for your understanding and patience.
