Can't upload Favicon

Hello,

I understand that this question has been asked numerous times before but I’m stuck. I created a favicon png file, converted to an ico and uploaded it to my media file on wordpress. Now when I try to put the url into the box that reads: favicon (set path to image below) nothing seems to happen. Please help!
