Can't Update WordPress Gallery with New Photos in Cornerstone

Hi,

we have created a page template with a photo gallery using the native WordPress photo gallery. The client can create a new post and select the page template in cornerstone with the gallery whenever they need to create a new gallery. The issue is the previously created gallery cannot be update with new photos. It’s really buggy inside Cornerstone:

  • You can add photos by adding the photo id’s to the shortcode in the code editor. But you can’t add them by selecting the photos in the media library through the visual or wysywig tab.

  • We are able to update galleries normally when not editing with Cornerstone, so the issue appears to be with Cornerstone.

  • Another bug is that if you want to reorder the images, the first time you try it, it doesn’t work. If you go through the process a second time, it works.

  • We need the site to be user friendly for the client. It would be too much for them to add page id’s via shortcode. They need to use the visual tab in cornerstone for this.

We have tried the following:

  • Updated Cornerstone and XTheme to newest versions
  • Updated to PHP 7.1
  • Disabled plugins
  • Tried every gallery option under the sun include choosing attachment page, media file or none.

Please let me know if you need any additional information or a website login. Any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated as is all your hard work.

Hello Keelan Jones,

Thanks for writing in!

I have replicated the issue in my local testing server using the latest version of the theme and Cornerstone. I can confirm that this is a bug in the latest release of the plugin. I’ve submitted this to our issue tracker so the developers will be made aware of it. Once they fixed this, it will be updated and rolled out in the next release update cycle.

Please bear with us.

Thank you!

You are most welcome!
