Can't start Youtube video anymore

Hi! I have a few Youtube videos embedded to my site with the “VIDEO” element. I had the videos working without any controller bar at the bottom until now (June 2018) - suddenly the videos don’t respond to clicking anymore (in other words they won’t start like they used to when you click the video in question).

The only way I am able to get the videos working at the moment is to enable the control bar on the bottom. This is not near as clear to user and it looks worse than the previous method.

Is there a way to fix this behavior?

Hey Jarkko,

You used the Video Player mode for your Youtube videos.

Though that will work we could not guarantee that it will function properly because that is not what it’s meant for. It’s meant for self-hosted hosted videos. You should use a direct video link or URL in there.

Please remove all the video elements and setup the Embed mode instead. You should use the Youtube Embed Code in there.
