Can't see any assets in the media library after update to pro

All my media assets have disappeared after upgrading to pro. I can’t find anything in the forum that works for me. I have only encountered an issue after conversion to pro. Unfortunately, I did not see this issue on the other sites we tested and otherwise, it went pretty smoothly. I assume there may be a conflict I did read about resolving http vs https but it is beyond my technical ability to find and trace. Please help us fix asap, thanks!!!

Hi @vxrworks,

Sorry that you’re having that issue, and thank you for the credentials but there are multiple sites associated with your account, would you mind sharing the site with the issue as well?

In the meantime, please make sure that your Wordpress is up to date and you clear all your caching plugins and features.

Updating WordPress

Remember to clear all your caching features (plugin, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache) after updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Thanks,

Just to be clear: My primary issue is not being able to see or access any assets in my media library.

The installation is https://gulfbreezerecovery.com, I have emptied cache multiple times (I am not as familiar with the current cache system on this installation because inmotionhosting does not have a dedicated cache system with my hosting plan so I use a third party plugin)

I have updated the secure note with the admin address for the login credentials

I am going to restore a back-up to prior to our conversion from x and hopefully that fixes issue. After we restore the back-up (I assume we will have the functioning version of x and cornerstone restored automatically) we will set up a conversion on a staging area so we can troubleshoot with your team without the attendant anxiety. Ultimately, our reason for wanting to convert to pro is for the ability to create custom footers.

Hello @vxrworks,

Thanks for updating in!

I have checked your site and I can see that is it using Pro 3.1.2. I am also seeing the images.
This is what I am seeing on my browser:

Can you send us a screenshot of what you are seeing? You might be having browser cache issues. Please clear your browser cache or use private browsing mode and test your site again.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

I see I can’t revert back to X from Pro, I was hoping if I simply restored a back up I would be able to get back to work. I really just need to resolve the issue I am having. I can’t see any assets in my media library so I am stuck unable to edit my website in the midst of needed changes. You showed me screenshots of the website. I am talking about the media library on the administrative side, that is why I provided login credentials. To be clear, when I go to the media library from the page editor there is nothing there. I have set up caching and a CDN by Sucuri and still can’t get it to work. I tested on two other sites and it worked fine, but on the important installation I am screwed. Really need help asap.

UPDATE:
The website host completed a backup restoration from the day before I converted to Pro. Everything seems to be fine running X like before with Cornerstone under the Pro license. I am going to make some timely changes and then set up a softaculous staging area and see if the problem persists and solicit some help. At the same time, the support technician did the following and I am not sure if that would have fixed the issue without restoring a back up.

“I first went to settings >> media and clicked save changes, without making any changes. Then went to settings >> permalinks and clicked save changes without making any changes either.
[Paul C.] That usually forces wp to update a few things which can resolve weird issues like that.”

Hey @vxrworks,

We’re glad that your site is now restored. You will need to check if what the backup technician did will fix the issue. Regretfully, we couldn’t answer that as well. It really needs manual checking.

I just like to add that our themes do not have a function that could wipe out Media Library data so it’s unlikely to be the cause of the issue. Would you mind checking what other plugins or custom functions in your child theme (if applicable) in your site that could do that?

Since you’ll test in staging next time, please deactivate all third-party plugins and check if the issue will happen. This will quickly tell you that none of the plugins cause the issue.

Thanks.

Yes, it works in every other installation so it isn’t on your end that we are having the problem, but it sucks I can’t figure it out.

It is holding up some simple but big features in the custom header and footer assets that will enable my client to remove things for campaigns they run etc from the footer.

Also I want to know if a two-column design for the sub-level main navigation items can be created with the x-theme design or pro builder.

I would like to attach a sample image of the two header main navigation. JB

Hey @vxrworks,

We understand that it’s frustrating when something in your site is malfunctioning. I’d recommend hiring a technician to solve the media problem.

Regarding 2 columns in a submenu, please see this similar thread: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/subheadings-not-displaying-in-row/68239/2?u=christian_y

Thanks.
