Can't Save Header or Footer as Template

I may be missing something simple but I don’t see how I can save my existing headers or footers as templates. I just don’t see the same interface elements as I do in pages. Whats going on here?

Page Builder has save and load options:

Please let me know how I can save my headers and footers as templates like I know I have in the past. I just have’t done it in a while and thought it would work the same way as pages do. What am I missing?

Thanks for reaching out.
Unfortunately, there is no option to save the Header or Footer as Template. But you can duplicate the Header from the list, as shown in the screenshot.

Yes I know I can do that. Has this always been this way? I really thought I remembered saving a header template before. Are there plans to create this functionality in the future?

Sorry for the confusion, You need to click on the Save the Template button. Please have a look at the given screenshot below.

Thank you for the clarification. I knew I had done it before. The inconsistency in the interface should be considered by the dev team IMO. I understand the selector for the position of header bars is in the way of where this usually would be (see my second screenshot above), but I imagine that could be redesigned to allow for the templates to be managed in the same way they are for pages.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to actually answer the question…
