Can't remove sidebar on posts

Hi there,

I’m trying to remove the sidebar on my individual posts. I’ve set the Layout and Design to fullwidth, the Blog settings to fullwidth, and the Blog archives to fullwidth. I don’t know what I’m missing. On pages, I can choose what layout template to use but I can’t find that option for posts. I’ve combed through the forum in hopes of finding an answer but I’m stumped.

Here’s an example of one of my posts: https://olivechanart.com/what-its-like-to-go-viral/

Please let me know if you need login credentials.

Thanks so much!

Hello @coracle,

Thanks for writing in!

Go to the Theme Options and find the Layout and Design. You must set the “Content Layout” to “Fullwidth”.

kindly let us know how it goes.

Thanks, @ruenel.

It’s already set to fullwidth there, as well as in the blog and archive settings.

Not sure why it’s not actually showing as full width? I’ve cleared the caches and tried toggling and resaving but it still shows the sidebar.

Hello @coracle,

Your hosting provider HostGator installs Endurance Page Cache. This could be the reason why it is not showing. We would also love to check your site settings. You can create a secure note in your next reply with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WP login URL
– WP username
– WP password
– WP Administrator Role
– Confirmation that we can access and make changes to your site

To know how to create a secure note, please check this out: How The Forum Works

Best Regards.

Thanks @ruenel.

I have added the secure note. Your help is much appreciated!

Hey @coracle,

The Global Options settings are correct and the issue only relies in your child theme. You’ve added a filter to override the layout template for single post. Please delete that code and it will fix your issue.

Hope that helps.

@marc_a, thank you!! You are brilliant. You solved my mystery!

I had forgotten that bit of code was in the child theme.

Thanks again!

Hi @coracle,

Glad that we are able to help you.

Thanks
