Can't edit previous CSS and header image in Cornerstone 5.0.11

I updated Cornerstone from version 4.x to version 5.0.11 yesterday and two things are no longer working. I think they may be related.

  1. The global CSS which I added in version 4.x seems to have gone missing. The “CSS” button in the Theme Options is now blank (other than the auto-generated comment). The CSS does still seem to be functioning on the page, but I don’t have a way to edit it any longer.

  2. The settings for the header (remember this is Cornerstone and not Pro) are no longer available. Specifically, I can no longer change the logo out which is on the header. I was set up with the Integrity theme, although that no longer appears to be a choice.

One clue may be that the my headers in the Cornerstone editor are showing the “pre-CSS edits” version, which the actual web site shows the “post-CSS edits” version of the header. (For instance, I moved the menu highlights from the top to the bottom in the CSS edits.)

Any ideas on either item? Thank you!

Hi @peterwh,
I have also the same issue with the global CSS.
I updated Cornerstone from version 4.x to version 5.0.11. My global CSS is also blank but in the source code there is my code in the <style id="x-generated-css">...</style>-Tag. There are no options to update the CSS oder remove the Code.
Have you already fixed the problem and can you tell me how to fix it?
Thanks.

Hi Bassi,

Please find the answer to your queries below:

  1. We may need to check your website by logging into your admin dashboard. Can you please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

  1. It might be the Advance Mode is not enabled in your page builder, please go to the Preferences and enable the Advance Mode to get those options.

Thanks

Yes, we’re running advanced mode on the interface. I’ll provide my credentials in another message.

Hi Bassi,

Thanks for providing all your details.

I went ahead and check your website. Then I found that you have the latest version of cornerstone plugin which is 5.0.11 and you have an outdated X theme version which is 7.2.3and that’s how your problem occurs because they are both incompatible with each other. I suggest that you will update first your X theme to the latest version. To do that, please uninstall your cornerstone plugin first to avoid any error and then update your theme to the latest version then install again the cornerstone plugin with the latest version.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Yes! That fixed both issues!

It’s not entirely clear that there is a theme update required with the updated Cornerstone plug-in. At least I missed it. It might be worth a check of the current theme when Cornerstone loads to pop up a “Your theme is incompatible” dialog box or somesuch. Anyway, thanks for finding the issue. Spot on.

Glad to hear that @peterwh
