Can't edit posts because of 'Post Settings' blocking view

I’m having an issue when trying to create/edit any posts.

Recently the Post Settings, which used to sit below the space to write your text, is now sitting over this space so that we cannot see the post content. We’ve tried troubleshooting plugins/themes and the problem only seems to occur when we switch back to the x theme.

We’ve managed to shrink the post settings so we can see most of the post being written but not sure what is causing this?

Thanks,
Lynsey

Hi Lynsey,

Thanks for reaching out.

Are you referring to the Guteberg editor or cornerstone builder? I’m not sure which post setting you’re referring and the only way for us to check it is by logging in, would you mind providing your site’s URL and admin login credentials in the secure note?

I would also try removing the CSS added to Theme Options > CSS (but make sure to back it up) . The cause could be there since the custom CSS is saved along with the theme settings even though it’s not theme CSS. Hence, deactivating the theme will also deactivate the culprit.

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

Sorry, I was referring to the Gutenberg editor. I’ve removed the custom CSS as you suggested but am still seeing the problem. I’ve also provided the requested login credentials in the secure note.

Thanks,
Lynsey

Hi Lynsey,

You just have to click on the down arrow for the Post Setting panel so that the post settings area will show up:

Hope this helps.

Hi Jade,

It’s not that I can’t figure out how to expand them. It’s that when they are loading they are loading over the gutenberg editor - so I can’t see what we are typing/posting. So these post settings overlay the editor where they previously sat below the content.

Hopefully that makes sense?

Thanks,
Lynsey

Hey Lynsey,

I first wanted to let you know that I personally had encountered this issue also. But after updating Chrome and clearing Chrome’s cache, the issue was fixed. With that experience, I believe it was either a browser bug or just a caching issue.

I checked your site and I don’t see the Post Settings overlapping the Gutenberg Editor too.

Please update your browsers and also clear the browser cache then check if the issue persists.

If it does persist, please give us a screenshot of the issue and also your Operating System and browser name and version.

Thanks.

Hi Christian,

Thank you so much - that’s solved it! Didn’t realise it would be as simple as that, thanks again.
