Cannot see global header because front page has no header

Hi there,

I am using pro and I have created a number of headers using the pro header builder. My problem now is, that my site has a landing page without a header, but when I want to edit my global header it always (unsuccessfully) tries to show the preview on the landing page. I tried assigning a dummy header to the landing page with no luck. Right now I am still developing, so I have simply set another page as front page, but as soon as the site goes live, this will become a real issue.

Any ideas as to how I get around this without having to assign the header manually to all pages?

Thanks a lot

Sandra

Hi Sandra,

Thanks for reaching out.
The Header always load with the Home Page preview, so if you have selected any of the No Header templates, it does not allow to load. There are a few different options you can try:

  1. Select the Template with Header for the Home Page temporarily to edit the Header.

  2. Make a copy of the header and set that into a Page and after editing it makes that Global.

  3. Set another Header as Global and set the KI BYG to another page to edit and set back as Global.

Hope that helps.
Thanks

Okay, thanks for the reply. I was hoping there would be an easier way, but that’ll have to do. Have a nice weekend

Hi Sandra,

You are most welcome.

Thanks

If anyone else runs in to this problem, I found a workaround  I created a dummy header with no content, which I assigned to the front page, and then I set the layout of the front page to “Header, no footer”. This way no header shows up on the front page, but if I want to edit the global header I can still see what I’m doing.
