Cannot Preview Layouts in Layout Builder - getting an error

Hello,

I am running into an issue with my layouts. For some reason that I cannot identify, I am suddenly getting the error “The iframe could not load due to the iframe response being incomplete”.

I have tried clearing the cornerstone cache, and resaving permalinks. no luck.

I did recently add a new CPT titled ‘Product’, and also deleted an old CPT… not clear if that is causing an issue?

Would you mind please taking a look at the layout Single - “Oracle Cards”.

Ill add login details in a secure note.

Hey Sophie,

Pro reserves the product post type for WooCommerce, so regretfully, you cannot use it as a CPT. Try changing it to another post type name like “your_company_initial_product”.

Thanks.

Oh thats a shame, as i have no plans to use wc.

I have now changed the CPT to ‘item’, and moved all the posts.

All layout previews are working however not all are being applied on the front end. The two that are not working are for taxonomy archives that connects with the new CPT.

Layout 1: Oracle Cards Archive: “Post type = Item” and “Item Type = Cards”

Layout 2: Prints Archive: “Post type = Item” and “Item Type = Prints”

Im not sure what I am missing.

Hello Sophie,

When creating a custom layout whether it is a single or archive layout, you do not need to have a Looper Provider and all you need is the Looper Consumer. The builder will use the default WordPress loop to display the correct items for the archives or post data for single layouts. You only use the Looper Provider if you are going to display post items in a normal page or display group of items such as related items in a single layout.

Hope this makes sense.

I see.

I just removed the Looper Provider and activated the Looper Consumer - yet the assignment is still not working.

Here is where it directs:
https://emergenceeducation.com/item_type/prints/ - as you can see no custom layout is being used.

Thank you for all your help.

Ive decided to create my CPT’s a different way, as something just was not working the way I was doing it.

No need for further help just now.
