Cannot log in after pointing the domain to temp url

Hi!

I had a temporary url at Siteground, where I made a new website.
Then I have yesterday pointed the domain to the hosting, and installed Let’s Encrypt.

I have logged in through the temp url, and changed WordPress address to the new-domain/subfolder, and site address to new-domain.

My intention was to then log-in into the new-domain/wp-admin, and do the final search/replace of all url’s.

But, upon entering the site username/password, wp-admin simply reloads and doesn’t let me in.

I guess this has nothing to do with Pro, but perhaps you have a quick idea what to do in such case?
Thanks!

Hi There,

The issue is due to the SSL, it wasn’t configured properly and you have two separate URL for admin and website.

Please configure it properly.

Can you make it same?

Hope this fixes your issue.

Thanks

Hi thanks, Siteground support suggested that I should point the wp files to subfolder, since the site is not in the root of the server. That is now fixed. It must have been a misunderstanding.

I also did the general search/replace which fixed “not secure” warnings.

The last remaining issue seems to be related to font awesome icons, which don’t show up. Perhaps the domain transfer is still not fully propagated. Or it may be something else?

Thank you!

Hi There,

Upon testing, I see the following error on your console log.

Blocked loading mixed active content

Could you please try installing a plugin like this (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-force-ssl/) and see if that helps.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!
