Am having to update a website I have not touched in ages that uses X theme. However, many of the Customize options appear to have disappeared. I have a Child theme set up and the latest version of X theme installed. However, I cannot view any of the most basic settings. I do not see “Customize” in my top bar, and the Customise under Appearance only takes me to the most basic settings. I need to edit the position of my menu/nav bar - change the border on the header etc. website is davidwilsonhair.com (I have stopped using X theme in favour of another premium theme on all the other websites I manage.) Please can you help. Thanks
Hello @kjdenny,
Thanks for writing in!
Please don’t use Customizer as X Theme and Pro Theme not have their own dedicated theme Options panel which can be accessed from X/Pro > Theme Options.
Thanks.
The options I can currently see under Theme Options are EXTREMELY limited. So apparently I now have to do everything by handwritten custom coding added to custom CSS. Is that correct? For example, how do I access the topbar content? If I wish to adjust the margins on the nav? If I wish to change the border on the header? If I want to change the background colour on the header or the topbar? If I don’t want a drop shadow on the header border? I’d like to change the settings on where the main menu appears (and I don’t mean just either inline or stacked). I’d like to amend the margins/padding. But I can’t do that.
I’d send you a screenshot of what I see/don’t see but there doesn’t appear to be an option to add.
The theme options available on the premium theme I’ve moved are mammoth. I still have to write some custom css, but not nearly to the same degree it appears I now have to do with X. There was once a time when I was a huge fan. No more.
Hello @kjdenny,
Please be advised that most of the theme settings in Appearance > Customizer were moved to X > Theme Options. You can still access the some theme settings in the Theme Options. For example, the Topbar Content can be access in X > Theme Options > Header > Miscellaneous > TopBar Content. There are option settings for the navigation menu too. Modifying the styline like text shadow, box shadows, border, etc. may require custom css which you can also add within the Theme Options Custom CSS section.
Hope this helps.
Please can you tell me where the menu options are in Theme Options? Nothing is there.
If you look at davidvwilsonhair.com the main navigation has moved and for the life of me I can’t figure out how to get it back again and adjust the height of the header
Hello @kjdenny,
Do you want your header to be displayed like this?
If that is the case, please do this:
1.) Go to X > Theme Options > Header > Logo - Image and set the “Logo Width” to at least 220 pixels.
2.) Go to X > Theme Options > Header > Links - Alignment and set the “Navbar Top Link Alignment” to 45 pixels only.
We would love to know if this has worked for you. Thank you.
Thanks loads! That worked.
You’re most welcome!
