Cannot edit translated pages with Polylang and Cornestone

Hi, please bear with me cause I am new to Wordpress. I want to have a site in two languages. Ive researched and apparently Polylang is the only free translation tool compatible with Cornerstone. So I add a 2nd language in the settings. Then I go to my pages. Here the idea is that I add (or duplicate) a 2nd page that is a translated version of the 1st one. I have to set the language and the translation, which I do. But then, this newly created page doesnt show up neither in the theme-x editor nor in the wp cornerstone editor.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in.

How did you duplicate it? Would you mind providing a video recording? And please provide your site’s URL and admin login credentials on a secure note. I like to try it as well.

Thanks!

Hi! Thanks for coming back to me. Unfortunately I cannot add videos and the photos are too big. But do the following. My credentials are on the previous post. Go to the pages and try to duplicate the home page. I use “Duplicate Post” plugin. I want to have a home page in english (default) and in dutch. Go to the dutch page, name it “Home NL” and change the language on the right to dutch and start typing “Home”. It should suggest Home. Publish it. Then go to the english Home and point it to the ducth translation one (just in case). Now go to the dutch one and try to edit it with cornerstone. Error: “the preview could no load due to the iframe response being incomplete. This is most often related to a plugin conflict, or customizations introducing a PHP error”. I dont know what to but bottom line I want a free translation system that i can use with cornerstone and that I dont have to start pages from scratch.

Thanks very much in advance!

Hi there,

Ah, you shouldn’t use Duplicate post plugin, it probably duplicated the content but not the data. Plus, it should be done by translation plug (like WPML duplication feature) instead of another unrelated plugin. I’m not just sure how PolyLang does that.(but I guess it’s the same as hitting the + icon in Language meta box while editing your page).

But you’re right, the builder is not loading either way. Could you try downgrading your Wordpress to 4.8.3? I noticed builder issues right when WP 4.9 became available. There are also known issues with Polylang and the builder but I’m not sure if this is related or just caused by WP 4.9.

Thanks!
