Cannot add picture on Slider Revolution

Hello, I would like to add a new png file on the existing slider revolution however it gives me something called “Ajax Error”. I can add text and do adjustments on the texts and titles we have but we cannot add another button or image on it. I have upgraded Slider Revolution, X theme. The problem does not occur due to the third party plugins.

Thank you in advance.

Hey Jamie,

Thanks for writing in! I have logged in and edited your slider. I was able to insert an image layer and have uploaded a png image file without any issues.

I can see that you have installed Autoptimize and WP Super Cache plugin. You may need to clear your plugin caches including your browser cache too and test the slider plugin again.

Regards.

Hello Ruenel,

Yes I can add the picture but whenever I clicked the save button, it does not function and give me that Ajax Error!!! error notice.

We wanted to use the icon for our new text layer. I can adjust the content and position, however, the size of the content can not be adjustable. It does give me the same Ajax error every time I want to change the position on mobile, tablet and notebook as well.

Hello Jamie,

I tried to make some changes on some text layer of the existing slider and save it and I get no issue when saving:

Can you please try to clear your site’s cache then check again? Also, please try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Let us know how it goes.

Hey Jade,

I have tried the problem is still there. It only happens when I want to add something on our homepage slider. What can we do?

Thanks in advance.

Hey Jamie,

I could replicate the issue as you have described. The only lead that the console give us you’re site is having a problem with WordPress’ Load Scripts.

There’s a lot of factors that could cause that including 3rd party plugins. But as you said you already tried testing for a plugin conflict, there could be other factors such as low memory or other PHP errors.

We might have a chance of knowing the exact cause by examining your server’s error logs. Please first contact your web host to increase your memory to 512MB. You currently have 256MB. After that, have your web host support examine your error logs and let them fix server issues if they find any.

Please also copy your live site to a staging server and give us the Live and Staging FTP or cPanel access details in a Secure Note

Just note that we can’t promise a fix for this as this could be an issue with your web host which we don’t have control over.

Thanks.

Hello Christian,

We have increased the memory to 512 MB, however the problem is still not solved. I will share the FTP access with you.

Thanks.

Hi Jamie,

I can see on your wordpress X > Status memory is indeed 512MB.

There is no error log when I logged in via FTP. What I found is an existing phpinfo.php. Looking into it, memory is stil 256MB. That means the increase of memory happens on wordpress only but your server is still 256MB.

At this point please ask your server provider to increase memory and also ask for the error log so we can have more clue about the error. Thank you.

Hey Lely,

I spoke with the web server and the memory limit has been increased to 512 MB now. You can find the error log in the secure notes.

Thank you.

Hi Jamie,

I can replicate the issue on my end and here are the errors.

The first error (404 Not Found) is referring to a missing image named (Idjinahoi.jpg), although this might not be related to the Ajax error its still best if you resolve this.

The second error (406 Not Acceptable) is the real issue, it might have something to do with Mod_Security (or any security feature you might have), you might have a content on your layer/slide that is being blocked. Please contact your hosting support as they can help you better with this, ask if the Mod_Security can be deactivated for a while and see if that resolves the issue.

Let us know how it goes,
Cheers!
