Cannot add/change category anymore in Products

Hi,

Since WordPress has changed the method of editing I cannot change or add the categories of my products in Woocommerce anymore. Do you know how to solve this?

Hi There,

You should see the product categories on the right hand side when you edit your products:

If you couldn’t see it, please click on the Screen Options button on the top right corner and check on the Product Categories:

Or did you mean the Block Editor? Just need to click on the gear icon to show the sidebar:

Hey Ton,

In this case, please contact WooCommerce support or a third party developer to investigate why the Category interface was removed in your site. It could be that there’s a third party plugin that overrides the Category selection.

Regretfully, we can’t investigate this because X nor Cornerstone does not override nor does have a function that is connected to the Category selection interface.

Dear Christian,

Strange enough the problem is solved when I update X from 5.2.5 to 6.4.6, or by updating Woocommerce 3.2.6 to 3.5.4. Because these updates make a mess of my webshop I had to set back a back up of my site.

Hi Ton,

The theme has no control over the Gutenberg layout, but yes, you should still update your theme since you already updated your Wordpress (with Gutenberg editor). And that’s because the fixes are usually added in the latest version to match the latest Wordpress core.

You can’t select some feature to stay in its lower version while the others are updated, it will cause incompatibilities. Please make sure everything is updated since your Wordpress is already on its latest version.
