Cannot access site

hello i was updating to the 7.2.3 version and now i can’t access the front end or dashboard of the site. I am only seeing this message:

Fatal error : Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/content/14/10844514/html/wp-content/plugins/revslider/includes/functions.class.php on line 1025

Is the solution to this issue to delete the revslider via ftp?

Hi Jesse,

As there is no option to access the wp-admin to delete the plugin, you need to remove that from FTP or CPanel Filemanager.

Hope that’s works for you.

Thanks

thanks i deleted and now have this error:

Fatal error : Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/content/14/10844514/html/wp-content/themes/x/framework/functions/frontend/content.php on line 349

hey so i deleted the if function that it referenced in line 349 of content.php. the function was referencing comments and had an if function referencing woocommerce within that. So i deleted it and i regained access to the site.

What do you suggest I do to reinstall the updated version without the revslider and content.php faliures? Thank you

Hello Jesse,

Thanks for updating in! Could you please update to the latest versions?
Our latest versions are:

  • X theme 7.2.3
  • Cornerstone 4.2.3
  • WordPress core 5.3.2 or higher
  • PHP 7.2 or higher

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog:

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Please let us know how it goes.
