Can open edit with Cornerstone but nothing happens on the web page

Hi

I have two licences. One site I built on Xtheme and the Cornerstone edit functions works normally.

I have a second site where I wanted to use Cornerstone because of its familiarity and functionality. However, while I can specify editing with Cornerstone and set up sections etc in the margin nothing actually happens on the web page I am trying to edit. Again, if I try to add elements like text nothing

I also tried saving the existing homepage as a template but I simply get the message that I have not set up sections. I am not sure that it is possible to perform this operation with non-X-theme pages.

Thanks for your help.

Hi There,

Thank you for writing in, does your Theme has Container? Try using a No Container template.

Please provide us the site URL so we can take a closer look, there might be theme styling that is overwriting your Cornerstone styling.

Cheers!

Thank you for responding. Much easier building a site from scratch so you know what is happening.

The site is www.rowingact.org.au

Hi,

Which page have you done in Cornerstone?

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? Please provide following information:

Set it as Secure Note

  • Link to your site
  • WordPress Admin username / password

Thanks

Hi Paul

Just wanted to confirm that you received the email with the site’s credentials?

Hi @wallabyact,

Please provide them in a secure note, we don’t have access to other support’s private messages

Thanks!

Hi There,

Thank you for the credentials, but that seems to have no access to using the Cornerstone. And I don’t see any page that was built in Cornerstone (no trace of shortcodes)

I believe the issue is within your Theme. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third-party themes or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s theme or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks for looking. I had thought Cornerstone would have worked on other sites but I can see the dilemma you face.

Hi @wallabyact,

Thanks for understanding. Feel free to asks us again

Cheers
