Can not sort by Category on Portfolio page

I have created a portfolio page where all portfolio items are shown but I do not see the option to sort by category. I have confirmed that the “Disable Filtering” is not checked on the portfolio page. Would appreciate any thoughts on why this may be the case.

One more thing: is it possible to add some text or any other Pro Elements above the grid of portfolio items? The text I enter in the WordPress Page editor does not show and is simply ignored by this Portfolio layout template. Am I doing something wrong or this is the expected behavior? How can I get this accomplished?

Is the sort portfolio filters displayed in your portfolio page? You may have added a custom css which hides it. Please keep in mind that the portfolio filter will only filter out the portfolio items displayed on that page. It will not display all other portfolio items that is not on the page. By default, the portfolio page will display 24 portfolio items. If you click on the filter button, it will display portfolio items associated with the filter button out of the 24 items.

Meanwhile, the portfolio page will display a dynamic layout displaying the latest portfolio items you have added. Any content you have added in the page will be discarded.
