Is there a way to make the Navigation Modal open automatically when you go to a page? On that same topic, are there any problems using the navigation modal with anchor links for one-page navigation or have those issues been fixed?

Thank you for writing in, yes that is possible with the toggle hash option, assign a toggle hash to the Navigation Modal element.
And then use that toggle hash to append on your page link.
e.g.
http://mysite.com/cornerstone-test-page/#open-modal
Yes, you can use navigation modal to one-page navigation.
