Can I use Pro on a development site before deploying to production?

I’m brand new at Pro. I just bought X and got the opportunity to convert to Pro. I have a regular license that applies to a single website. My question is if I can use my Pro theme on a development site to get to know the theme before actually deploying it to my production site?

Yes, you can do that as long as you upgraded your X license to Pro, so you could download the Pro theme and install it. Development site does not require another license.

On a local machine I just setup XAMPP to host Wordpress and the Pro theme.

It’s is asking me for the license to unlock extensions. If I add the license then I’m afraid it will be locked to the development site, so I can’t deploy to my production site.

Hi @Breum,

You can always revoke the license from your local site, then remove the URL from your license page. You can always edit the assigned URL in your license page. It will be permanent if you’'re not going to remove them
