Can I disable the letter spacing on a renew site? The controls in customise don’t seem to stick, I’d just like the font to be as it is normally. It looks squashed no matter what I do.

There is no such option to disable the letter spacing, You can always adjust the header letter spacing in theme option -> Typography.
There is no letter spacing value to the default text, you can always overwriting any section or element letter spacing by adding custom CSS, Ex. letter-spacing: normal;
