Is it possible to link up posting to a page which is not the standard post page. since the editing options very limited I am wondering if I could build a new page and attatch posting capabilities to it. let me know if this makes sense! thanks

Technically, the answer is yes. How is it done depending the options you want might be outside the scope of our support.
Option 1. Create a custom blog template. This is not covered by the support. You might need to consult a web developer. As a starting point, please check wordpress template hierarchy.
Option 2 Use essential grid to create a custom blog display. There’s skin editor so it is easy to build and link it to any page.
