Caldera form not displaying inline

Hey there,

On this page https://strategies2succeed.ch/apply/eligibility-check/ , I have an issue that the Caldera form is not displaying inline.
I tested the form on another site, and it is displaying correctly. I tried adding display: inline-block, but no joy.

Thanks for you support and best regards,

Sandra

Hey Sandra,

Would you mind setting up test 2 pages and add your form in the default WordPress editor in the first test page and add your form in a Text element in the second page. You’re currently using the Content Area element.

I’ve tested a basic Caldera Form in a Content Area element in my test site and the form’s style works though.

Thanks.

Hey Christian,

Here the updated page with the Text element https://strategies2succeed.ch/apply/eligibility-check/
In a page with the Wordpress editor https://strategies2succeed.ch/test/
The form on another site https://dev.360impact.ch/caldera_forms_preview (no layout)

Thanks

Hi @slwirth,

The form from another site doesn’t exist, and it looks like with or without the builder, the form rendering is still the same. Could you try switching to another theme and see if the issue still persists? If it’s still the same, then it’s the form issue and you will have to contact the form author.

Thanks!

Hi Rad,

Here is the page of the other site again (now published) https://dev.360impact.ch/caldera_forms_preview

Wired, ok on other site but not on present site with other theme https://strategies2succeed.ch/test/.

Must be a Caldera issue.

Thanks and have a good day,

Sandra

Hi Sandra,

Even though it’s a third party plugin which we do not support, I have tested Caldera Form on my test site using Raw Content element and Content Area element, and I was able to see the forms are functioning properly.

Could you please disable your other 3rd party plugins, remove any custom CSS you have, also switch to the parent X theme from your child theme and test this again.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Hey there,

I switched to the standard Pro Theme and deactivated all plugins but Caldera, removed all css.

And the issue is still here https://strategies2succeed.ch/apply/eligibility-check/.

Thanks for your follow-up!

Sandra

Hi Sandra

It sounds like you might be having an issue with a third party plugin or script. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.

Thank you for your understanding.

Dear @paul.r,

I fully understand, yet I find your feedback in contradiction with the one from @mldarshana.

Best,

Sandra

Hi @slwirth,

It does work but it’s hard to tell what’s causing in your end, and it’s definitely not a builder nor theme issue since it’s still the same without the builder and or with another theme. It could be your site itself, I could initially check it but I couldn’t offer any solution since it’s a 3rd party.

Please provide your login credentials in a secure note and I’ll check.

Then please deactivate the builder and switch to another theme, the let the developer of the plugin test it.

Thanks!

Hi @Rad,

A big thank you for your help.

Please find my credentials below.

Warm wishes,

Sandra

Hi Sandra,

Could you please grant admin user privileges for this account since I can see it only displays the profile page and I can’t see your installed plugins or the theme settings?

Thanks.

Hi Alla,

Done, sorry for the inconvenience.

Best

Hi @slwirth,

This looks like a conflict between the theme and plugin. I’ll add this to our issue tracker for further checking.

Unfortunately, there is no working workaround as I tried them as of this moment. It could be a conflict with enqueue, which I may not able to alter since we don’t know the plugin enqueue its own scripts and stylesheets.

How about using different from plugin for now? Like Gravity form or form cost estimation plugin.

Thanks!

Hi @Rad,

Thanks for looking into this. Interestingly the form runs fine on this other Pro site (more recent) https://dev.360impact.ch/en/test-caldera/ with active css and plugins.

Maybe helpful for finding out the issue. I attach the login infos in case you want to have a look.

Best,

Sandra

Hi @slwirth,

Yeah, I was thinking it’s host related too and there could be an internal caching or database caching that upon switching the theme, it generates another cache based on the theme. But I couldn’t find any information to support this. How about cloning this to another staging site just for comparison?

It’s not a theme, builder, or form plugin issue but something else.

Thanks!

Hi @Rad;

Thanks again.

I don’t think that it is a hosting issue, as dev.360impact.ch (correct display) and strategies2succceed.ch (incorrect display) have the same host, hostpoint.ch whereas https://swissbluetecbridge.ch/apply/eligibility-check/ (incorrect display) is with infomaniak.ch.

There is this display block that disturbs me. and if I follow up the inherit line, I land here: js touchevents cssanimations csspointerevents csstransforms supports csstransforms3d preserve3d csstransitions

Again, I am not a coder (but a management consultant).

Thanks.

Hey @slwirth,

@Rad has pointed out that this is not an issue with the theme. And, I also have tested the free version of Caldera Forms in my test site and it just works out of the box. @mldarshana just confirmed it (He didn’t mean that we support third party conflicts though). You also have confirmed this is not a theme issue when you said it works in your other site.

This means that, there is something that is causing this in your site. I’m sorry but we did what we could here. We only can go as far as finding if it’s caused by the theme and we found that it is not.

At this point, you will need to contact the Caldera Forms support. We can help you no further.

Thank you for understanding.
