I am wanting to add a cache plugin to the site ( specifically W3 Cache or Total Cache plugin) however, I get a message that it “is not allowed in our system due to security and performance issues.” The plugin says that it is compatible with my version of Wordpress. Is there another issue with the theme that does not allow the install?? Tks

Thanks for asking. 
Issue you are facing with cache plugin installation is not because of the theme rather it’s the hosting security stuff that’s not allowing you to install cache plugins. Couple of hosting companies don’t allow users to install 3rd party cache plugins. One that comes to my mind is Godaddy. I have seen that in some of Godaddy accounts there system does not allow users to install W3 Total Cache plugin. Godaddy has there own cache system.
