Builder Icons Not showing when using WP Rocket

Hi There,
Are there known incompatibility issues between Pro and Wp Rocket? When WP rocket plugin is activated, the navigation icons within the builder do not display. See screenshot here: https://cl.ly/07b7127cec65 It becomes very difficult to edit pages when these icons are not available, especially now with the new layout and flexbox pro features. Few notes…

  • I’m using latest version of Pro (3.0.1); however this issue was happening before I upgraded to latest theme version so don’t think its related. And this same issue is happening on all my sites that use xTheme Pro and WP rocket.
  • All Plugins and Wordpress software is up to date
  • If uncheck the Enable CDN Network within the WP Rocket settings within WP-Admin or disable the plugin all together then the issue goes away.
  • I made sure to clear all caches
  • My Host is WP Engine
  • CDN is enabled on WP Engine and configured within WP Rocket

Clearing all caches does not fix the issue. However, if I uncheck the CDN option within WP Rocket, then the issue is resolved. And it appears this does not need to be checked for CDN on WPENGINE to work. When I run a GTmetrix test and look at the waterfall results, I see that the assets are coming from the CDN server even though the CDN box is not checked within WP Rocket. Not sure why this is. Thoughts? Theories?

Hi Brad,

We experienced some problems with the minify feature of the WP Rocket but it is interesting that you report that the CDN feature is also problematic.

Would you please kindly update the theme to version 3.0.3? It addresses the minify problem. Let’s see how it works with your case.

I turned minify back on after upgrading to 3.0.3 and have not experienced any issues. However, the issue I reported in this ticket still exists. If the CDN enabled checkbox within WP rocket is checked then all icons do not display within the Pro builder. Once I uncheck CDN then the icons appear again. I bet you will be able to replicate this. It is the same behavior on all 8 of my sites that use Pro and WP ROCKET and WP Engine. Here’s a screen print of the WP Rocket setting I’m referring to - https://cl.ly/0bdc1f40f743

Hi Brad,

Try manually clearing WP Rocket Cache and any other cache features your site might have. The issue could be on your CDN configuration as you said it works when its disable.

That being said, all the assets in Pro (and X) are already minified, so you could try adding exclusions for the theme folder for now

/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/(.*).js
/wp-content/themes/x/(.*).js
/wp-content/themes/pro/(.*).js
